Adaloquo's Island: WADES
The WADES (Water, Aquaculture, Desalination, Energy, Shipping) island, is located 150 miles off the shore of Adaloquo.

WADES contains:
-
DSRO
-
Energy
-
Seaweed plastic and Spirulina farms
-
Ports for Shipping and Trade
-
Sea-Salt Processing Facilities
-
Water System Management

The main and largest system on the WADES island is Deep Sea Reverse Osmosis (DSRO); Adaloquo’s solution to actualizing every city’s dream of clean, renewable, and resilient water. DSRO’s concentrated brine stream pumps clean, desalinated, back up to WADES. This way, the island’s systems do not create any environmental impact by increasing the salinity of the surrounding water. The concentrated brine stream is filtered and processed for sea-salt. WADES also grows different types of seaweed; including brown seaweed and nutritious Spirulina. The brown seaweed is harvested and processed into biodegradable single-use plastics, and distributed throughout the city as an alternative to harmful, non-biodegradable, plastics. This is environmentally-friendly and easy to produce on the mass-scale. Spirulina is grown as a reserve food source, available to all citizens at all times. Spirulina contains an abundance of healthy nutrients and antioxidants, while also reducing high blood pressure.
Trading ports on WADES monitor exports of Spirulina, sea-salt, and biodegradable seaweed plastics. A majority of Adaloquo’s funding for public systems and city budget is derived from their exports. This export profit provides Adaloquo with financial security for future research. Due to the resilient plastic solutions, nutritious reserve food, and international trading, Adoloquo has and will thrive for years to come. (Of course, we’re always thinking of the future)
