Energy

     Intro:

ARO (Adaloquo Resilience Organization) placed piezoelectric tiles, embeddable thermophotovoltaic power, flying wind turbines, and tidal power throughout the city and the island.

In-Depth:

Piezoelectric tiles produce energy when pressure is placed on them, such as when citizens walk or bike. Solar power is enhanced by having heat absorbed into the energy input as well as the photon’s energy. These solar technologies are embedded in windows, to maximize space. Flying wind turbines are placed on the hills of Adaloquo and raised into the air as there is faster, more powerful wind higher up. A main source of energy is tidal power, which is placed in strategic areas of the sea to provide power by the island. There are small wind and solar farms on the island to power the pipes. Each of our energy sources has its own micro-grids. If any of these systems break down or are compromised, the remaining systems can sustain the city until repairs have been made.
